2014 marked the year international electronic musician PAUL VAN DYK returned to the singles realm with “Come With Me (We Are One),” a collaboration between the electronic music overlord and Turkish/Dutch wonderkind Ummet Ozcan, “Only In A Dream” with Jessus & Ahdam Ashraf featuring Tricia McTeague and “Guardian” with Aly & Fila featuring Sue McLaren--three fiercely infectious pieces of floor-propelling electronic music. Over late December/early January 2015, the original mix of “Guardian” roared across floors, claiming the #2 spot on Beatport’s trance chart in the process. Now the track has been remixed for Guardian (The Remixes), a four-track EP that will be made available on February 10 on Ultra Music. Other stops planned for February include Seattle, San Antonio, Dallas, New York, San Diego and Los Angeles. PvD will also return to Miami to appear at the Ultra Music Conference in March. The full routing follows below. “Guardian” brings together PvD, Aly & Fila, three producers long celebrated for wowing the clubbing lands with their height-of-the-night productions. For the remix EP, the trio’s Sunrise and Sunset mixes drop some expectation-subverting versions into “Guardian”’s equation. Unexpected, different, surprising even, their more recumbent tones, dovetailed to Sue McLaren’s sweetly sung vocals and bittersweet lyrics, mass to take music lovers to places they may never wish to return from. For his mix, Goodgreef’s Jordan Suckley goes pole-to-pole delivering a rework that seismically blasts “Guardian” through to the heart of 6am. Tough, on an almost cellular level, Suckley’s thunderous remap will thoroughly test the mettle of your club’s speakers. Then Pedro Del Mar & R.I.B take the track on a chilled ride to the lounge side. Linking the circle back to the Sunrise and Sunset mixes, the two deliver a richly produced, brilliantly structured revision perfect for the ride home after a long night of revelry.

New Cosmic Gate single 'Yai'
You know 'Yai'... That cult instrumental that last year stirred the midsection waters of Cosmic Gate's 'Start To Feel' album oh-so deep. Enigmatic, electric, brooding… and frankly prime for some lyrical/vocal expansion! Well, for their first single action of 2015, that's exactly what Nic & Bossi are delivering.
Bringing it its fresh angle is JES, the songstress behind Motorcycle's legendary 'As The Rush Comes', previous Cosmic Gate crowd rocker 'Flying Blind' and a dozen others besides. She pools her soul-searching vocals and laid-bare lyrics to further develop Yai' with an emotive tale of a relationship on the ropes.
Now retitled 'Yai (Here We Go Again)', her vocal is a mirror-perfect reflection of Cosmic Gate's production, packed to the nines with brooding, dark-tech riffs, edgily played off against more optimistic synths.
Premiered by Armin van Buuren as his Tune of the Week on A State Of Trance 698, and one of a host of exclusive tracks to be featured on their first, just-announced 'Wake Your Mind Sessions' mix-comp (out in March), prepare to say 'Yay' to 'Yai'!
Aurosonics & Frainbreeze’ “All I Need” receives a well deserved Suncatcher remix. His ace uplifting treatement to the sweet and emotional warm vocals of Katty Heath (Allen & Envy “Stole The Sun’, Temple One “Together We Escape” and her latest top 10 with Kaimo K “Here I Am”) add the right ingredient to make this a future trance classic.
